Being up to date and achieving the highest standards are two of the main focuses of our school, the HTL Leoben. Excellent knowledge of English is essential for our pupils who will work internationally after their graduation. Therefore one main aim was to acquire new teaching techniques in the classroom in combination with the use of new technologies. Also the possibility to get into contact with other international teachers was significant to be able to exchange knowledge and do projects. To improve the language competence of English of our teachers was also one aim of this project. Als only one admission was granted we decided that Mrs. Tomasi should do a teacher training. She attended the course "Trends and New Directions in English language teaching in Norwich, England. There she acquired knowledge of different teaching methods and also had to use them in practical sessions. She completed the course with a practical exam. After the course she passed on her new skills and knowledge to her colleges and also used them in her lessons. Mrs. Tomasi also got good contacts to teachers from Italy and Spain and also did an online project with them.
