The Cyprus Youth Council (CYC) is the chair of the National Working Group on Structured Dialogue and has as the leading actor in the planning and implementation of the process in Cyprus . Moreover, in view of the European elections in 2014 and the ever lower rates of youth participation in the democratic life of their community, country and at EU level, the issue of youth empowerment through democratic tools (i.e. Structured Dialogue ) is one of the most burning problems of Europe and even Cyprus. Hence this will be the next theme of the fourth cycle of the Structured Dialogue. The main activity of the project focuses on the organization of a three-day conference where 70 young ( 16-30 years old from all over the geographical territory of Cyprus and all communities , minorities and cultural groups ) will be informed by policy makers and experts on youth empowerment opportunities in Cyprus and the EU. They will also be informed on the Structured Dialogue process both in theory and in practice through the active participation in public consultations in the conference with policy makers . At a later stage of the project these suggestions along with other results of the Structured Dialogue consultations will be used to inform policy-making institutions in Cyprus for the views of young people on matters that concern them . The program will be a multiplier effect , since participants with the knowledge and experience they will gain, they will have the ability on their own or with their organization to engage actively in the process of Structured Dialogue as well as be active practitioners in some of the actions of the Erasmus +
