The project included the creation of a rural development guide in Hungarian andRomanian language. The handbook introduces the EU and national rural developmentpolicies, past and present, as well as the rural development programmes of the2007-2013 period and earlier periods as well. The handbook provides a descriptionof the LEADER programme, as well as the illustration of the principles of LEADER intheory and practice. Numerous project development methods and ideas for projectsare also given, with the goal of encouraging innovation and new ideas. The successof the training financed from the support is illustrated by the fact that Hungarian andRomanian participants signed a cooperation agreement on the joint development ofthe border area.
