This project is promoted by the Tomillo Foundation, a private, non-profit, non-denominational and independent institution. It was
founded in 1983, with the purpose of contributing to the social improvement and integral development of students. The activity of
the Foundation focuses primarily on Orcasitas neighbourhood, one of the poorest in Madrid. The social environment of the average
student offers few possibilities. This is why the basic educational activities of the Foundation are called Pedagogy of Integration, a
strong commitment with young people in an attempt to rebalance the inequalities of their origins. It is in this context that an
initiative like Erasmus + is so important, allowing students who otherwise would not be able to gain an international mobility
experience.
Goals:
In relation to the students:
-Increase their initiative, autonomy and self-esteem.
-Improve their employability and opportunities to continue their training.
-Improve the knowledge of a second language.
-Improve learning outcomes.
-Profit of intercultural relations.
-To promote an active sense of citizenship.
-Increase the positive perception of European activities and projects.
In connection with participating organizations:
-Increase The capacity of the organization in projects at European / international level.
-To Know other ways of doing, allowing innovate and improve the way you act with our students.
-To Promote a more dynamic, modern and professional within the organization environment.
Participants:
In relation to the mobility of students for internships, they involved a total of 2 students in vocational education Intermediate: 1 of them Technician Profile Microcomputer Systems and Networks and other profile Technician in Administrative Management.
Regarding staff mobility for training purposes, he has participated in FP Basic teacher, who teaches in the field of Electricity and Electronics and Informatics and Communications.
Profile of the participants:
The project participants are generally young people in socially vulnerable. These are young people who have grown up in a well economically or culturally very poor family environment.
Activities performed:
September 2014: Home project. Erasmus + Constitution of the project team. Home contact with the host partner, by the coordinator.
September 2014: Dissemination of the project among students by the coordinator tutors more groups. Delivery of training programs for those responsible for the departments where students would perform the practices by the coordinator.
January 2015: the interviews were conducted with students candidates, in charge of guiding the center and the social worker. Home of linguistic preparation, coordinated by the head of language.
February 2015: students and the teacher was selected beneficiaries of Erasmus +, based on the criteria established by the project team. Development of the application for work experience abroad and sent to the Ministry of Education, by the coordinator. Processing and management board and lodging of students in the country of destination, by the responsible financial management in coordination with the project manager of the host partner.
March 2015: the inspection documents relating to practices were sent by the coordinator. Meetings with families and students, guidance on obtaining documentation, by the coordinator, responsible for financial management, the counselor and the social worker. Preparation and signing of contracts between the Foundation and students by the coordinator. Purchase of tickets, by the responsible financial management. Subscribe travel insurance and subsistence, by the responsible financial management.
April 2015: Travel to Doncaster. Home tutoring sessions, with the intervention of the tutor of the Tomillo Foundation. Contact with company tutors, by tutors of the Tomillo Foundation.
June 2015: End of stay in Doncaster. Receiving documentation. Preparation of reports of participants.
October 2015: Submission of final report. Final project.
Results:
The objectives were achieved, students have achieved development of personal and professional skills according to plan. Both are prepared to study Advanced Level and have gotten jobs, even though they were temporary, I was a first contact with the labor market.
As for the teacher, as applied in the classroom methodology learned in Doncaster College.
