Project "Empowerment for social inovations in Antalieptė Valley" is European Voluntary Service project which will be held in Lithuania, Zarasai region Antalieptė. It will start in 2015 August 5th and will last 12 months. Project activities focuses on modern society need to take a fresh look at social problems and innovative ways to solve them involving local communities. As there is still a lack of spaces and forms for Social innovators to gather, form a community, collaborate and grow, NSII began to develop social innovation lab "Honey" - which is a hub space in nature which grew into bigger project Antalieptė Valley- space and infrastructure for social innovators. Social Innovation Laboratory and Antalieptė Valley is a unique project in the Baltic States and most of the Europe. The whole park and its infrastructure with many still unused buildings is perfect experiments place for social ideas testing and implementation.At the moment Antalieptė Valley, as social business, provide following services: - Experiential walking tours in nature; - Infrastructure for social innovators job tourism, meetings, camps; - Education in the apiary and selling honey. In order to organize and deliver those services NSII involves local community. We believe that this is a very positive example of operation that is worth to spread to other European countries. The project aims to: Enable young people to think innovatively in addressing social problems and motivate to take the initiative Objectives: - Promote young people's active participation in the development of the Valley Antalieptė services, innitiating new ones; - To encourage young people's interaction with the local community as the formation of a young person world-view; - To promote inter-cultural learning among young people and local community as well as services target; - Spreading Social Business and Social Innovation Valley as an exemplary model to empower young people for innovative changes in local, national or international level; - To develop young people's creativity and encourage pro-activeness; - Create safe environment for youth competences development according their personal expectations, through experimental learning and voluntary activity; Project will have a significant impact for youth experiential learning, innovative and socially responsible personality development.
