Empowering the Youth
Start date: Jul 1, 2015, End date: Feb 29, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project „Empowering the Youth“ was an international youthworker mobility, a training course on the topic of employability that took place from 17th to 26th October 2015 in Adamov, region of Brno in the Czech Republic, bringing together 34 participants from 8 different countries: Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania, Latvia, Greece, Italy, Hungary and Macedonia. The project aimed to bring a new perspective on the support of young people in defining and creating the life they want for themselves and they have been planning, by creating a space for youth workers from different countries to come together, share their practices and learn new tools and methods that are usable in their everyday personal and professional life. The goal of the project was to support the participants in being proactive, open and curious in creating fulfillment in their lives and in empowering the youth in achieving the same goal. We aimed to provide them with practical tools and methods that are usable in everyday life and to facilitate the process of learning by doing during the training that would continue in their lives. Using the methods of non-formal education and experiencial learning, the participants experienced various activities in indoor and outdoor, such as creativity and role-playing, discussions, intercultural workshops, problem-solving and teambuilding tasks. All the participants were actively involved in creating their own experience, which activated their proactivity and creativity in achieving the results they desire in their lives. The aim was to embody that approach in a way that they were able to bring it back home and apply it in their lives, which would positively influence their personal and professional lives, as well as the community they are living in. Regarding the results, impact and long-term benefits of the project, we want to emphasise the development of participating NGOs – the participants are reporting back getting involved in youth work in more active way, designing new projects with personal development tools acquired from the training, some of them even started their own NGO. For us it confirms that the competences acquired in the project are being used and transmitted forward. Another of the results worth mentionning is establishment of closer cooperation with foreign NGOs – getting to know each other personally we know we can rely oneach other and we have already created new partnerships in project newly applied.
