The project Erasmus Mundus Broadening Educational ExpeRiences (EMBER) is an Erasmus Mundus Action 2 (EMA2) consortium comprised of twenty partner higher education institutions and four associated partners from Western/Central/Eastern Europe all the way to the South Caucasus. The consortium includes institutions from all five of the Lot 5 countries targeted by the Eastern Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI). EMBER concerns itself specifically with the Thematic Fields of Economics, Business, Languages, and Sociology.The project envisages a total of 173 mobilities to be completed over three cohorts. The projected has designated 148 mobilities (85.5%) of the mobilities to 3rd Country Partners, and 25 mobilities (14.5%) to its European Partners. The consortium is diverse, and consists of centrally and peripherally located Partner HEIs, EMA2/ECW experienced, as well as inexperienced partners. Knowledge-sharing for the purpose of fostering peripheral and/or less experienced partner development is a fundamental element of EMBER's goals.The project will support EACEA EMA2 objectives of:- Enriching societies through enhancing the qualifications of women and men through the mobility opportunities offered.- Promoting mobility opportunities for disadvantaged groups through project information dissemination activities by EU, 3rd Country, and Associated Partners.- Supporting the development of 3rd Country Partners via building HEI networks, knowledge sharing, and capacity building.- Promoting mobility opportunities for academic and administrative staff so that they may share knowledge with their home institutions- Contributing to the development of 3rd Countries through equipping students and staff with pertinent skills and competencies
