Eldorado
Start date: May 1, 2016, End date: Oct 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

From August 22d to September 3rd of 2016, this youth exchange will gather 26 participants from 5 countries and will be socially and culturally heterogenetic. For many years CBB has been building partnerships with reception centers for asylum seekers through different kinds of activities (as weekend and international workcamps).Given that experience and the current migration crisis, with 3 active members of CBB we find it even more important to tackle this topic deeper by organizing a youth exchange this summer. “Being a refugee” supposes that you are forced to be on the way for a while. It also means that, usually, you will face lots of challenges and different persons or groups of persons and stakeholders (other migrants, local community, state officers, organizations…). Through visual arts methods, photography and writing, some techniques usually used when writing a travel diary, participants will express their opinion on the topic and give their point of view on how each of us by promoting citizenship values can be helpful to facilitate the integration of asylum seekers in our society. The artistic workshops, led by a professional, should also valorise the sense of creativity of participants. During the youth exchange, participants will have the opportunity to go on cultural visits linked with the topic of the project. Eldorado is part of a wider project called “Welcome refugees- Youth activists for Peace” initiated by a German partner of this this Youth Exchange. This partnership insures that the result of Eldorado project will be spread on a large international level, through all organizations involved (more than twenty in fifteen countries).
