Einstein4All

The municipality of ’s-Hertogenbosch has put a great deal of effort into its approach to early school leavers in line with the Lisbon objectives aimed at reducing the number of early school leavers during the period 2000 to 2010 by fifty percent. Both preventative and curative policy is being developed with the local schools. Research of the vocational college (Koning Willem I College) shows that 50% of the dropouts or students changing education attribute this to a wrong idea about the training and/or the profession. Therefore it is important to do something in joint responsibility with career guidance. The main objective of Einstein4All is a regional career supervision model for preparatory secondary vocational education students which presents a joint responsibility on the part of education, (local)government and the business sector in the orientation process for education and profession. To work on this issue together in the region will lead to better pedagogical and didactic connection. It gives also the opportunity to make the route more effective and attractive.
