The purpose of the project was to create a unity of action among the winemakers of the counties of Zala and Koprivnica-Krizevci by organizing joint marketing activities (competitions and wine days) and exchanging acquired experiences in production. The main goal of the project was to provide professional training to winemakers of the County of Zala to enable them, in cooperation with wineries of the neighboring region, to successfully market their products that are in compliance with EU standards. A training program was held for winemakers, and the participants received a professional certificate. In cooperation with the Croatian partner, an international wine competition was held in Zalaszentgrot, along with wine days and professional counseling. Achievements: The training program included 30 participants who obtained a professional certificate. The wines of Zala have participated at several wine fairs in Croatia, and the winemakers of the cross-border region were introduced to traditional winemaking techniques. Prominent Hungarian and Croatian wineries received promotional materials in several languages. Wine days and wine competitions enabled the local population and tourists visiting the region to familiarize themselves with the wines and winemakers of the region. A website with information on regional winemaking and project results was also produced within the project.
