On November 2012 the Directive 2012/27/EU on Energy Efficiency was approved. This Directive established a common framework of measurements for the promotion of EE within the Union, and also recognized that there was a lack of specific qualification for carrying out energy audits and energy management.EFFIVET project defined several objectives whose fulfilment is reviewed below:-To develop a VET structure for the energy efficiency sector which allows to establish a qualification system for the future, in accordance with the needs of the market: The VET structure for the energy efficiency sector was properly developed. This document was included in the Training Guide, which is defined as the main result of the project and compiled all developed documents: Energy Efficiency European Qualification Structure, European Curriculum, Learning units and Multinational Glossary. This document had the expected quality and was developed in accordance with the detailed definition of the expected knowledge, skills, competencies and learning outcomes obtained in the course of the project.-To transfer methods, developed in previous Leonardo Projects, for the identification of needed skills, participation of employers and use of common European tools: The project worked on the previous experiences (LEONARDO project, SolTec) and identified skill and competences needs to be covered by training, and adapted the VET tools developed in the context of the Solar Energy Sector, to the Energy Efficiency sector.-To support the implementation of the "New Skills for New Jobs" strategy by improving the competences and skills of the EE sector as part of the new “green job” market: The project helped to professionalize the energy sector through improving training and standardization of certifications in Europe.-To boost the development of the European Energy Efficiency sector by the skills and competences in the field of energy efficiency: The EFFIVET project has succeeded in developing the skills profile and European CV, which is a clear contribution to energy efficiency industry, allowing other member states to use the elaborated products.-To foster the relationship between training and working life to vocational training institutions more responsive to market needs: The EFFIVET project was a clear example of collaboration among training companies, energy companies, and national qualification institutions, to meet the real needs of the market.
