During the last 10 years when forming of information and knowledge society took place the role of librarian and library professional has significantly changed. The demands of society for libraries and librarians’ qualifications have increased and librarians have new roles: they are educators, teachers and trainers of library users. Therefore it is crucial to accordingly change the non-formal professional development education system. During the preparation stage of the project research "The trends of development of library sector and possibilities to increase the quality of education" was made and it is used as basic catalyst for determination of needs for employees worked in libraries. Within the research 68% from all targeted employers indicated that professional skills are very important, professional activities - 55%. The high percentage (71%) agreed that interest about innovations and information communication technologies is also very important.The main aim of the project is to develop training opportunities for employees of libraries - librarians and those library professionals whose job duties need IT skills increasing their qualification and making the qualifications of employees of libraries more responsive to the needs of the labour market and innovations in ICT and training methods. The improvements of qualification are be based on increasing quality of existing training tools and methodology as well as on development of new instruments. Studies are organized in several modules to allow each in-service student to choose knowledge and qualifications that suit the real needs of their roles in their work places.
