The project promotes the intercultural exchange and mutual understanding for cultural diversity, social terms, tradiditons and perspectives. It offers the candidates the possibility to enliven with civic engagement the idea of the European neighborhood, to develope sympathy and to reflect the ideas of each other. It offers an opportunity to cross-regional mobility, work experience, personal development and the acquisition of key skills through informal education. The aspect of the non formal learning gives the volunteers the opportunity to exchange cultural knowledge, to enhance their skills and learn new skills. Especially the independence and initiative of the participating volunteers will develop thoughout the duration of this project. The volunteers are closely involved in the team of the boarding school and thus take an active part in the organization. They are understood to be part of the team that supports each other and values each others skills. The project applies for two volunteers from Poland and Island, that will absolve their voluntary service for 12 months in the hosting project Gemeinnützige kinderförderungs GmbH.
