Climate changes and environmental degradation led to the realization of the need for diversification policies, with a view to sustainable development through a more Green Economy. These policies have a direct impact on the labor market by diversifying economic sectors and occupations and influencing the knowledge, skills and attitudes of the workforce. As a result, there is an urgent need for people who have green skills. Recently, there is growing consensus that the existence of these new skills, the focus should be more on improving (greening) of existing skills. The submission of the project is done by a Consortium of five Professional Lyceums (PLs) (Sofadon, Palalma, Tyrnavou, Elassonas, Velestinou) educational covering much of Thessaly area with about 130,000 inhabitants, where many SMEs operating mainly in the primary and tertiary production. The project addressed identified training needs of the participants. Objectives of the project are: 1) The enrichment of knowledge, skills and abilities on the Green Economy applications 2) Improving the quality of training. Will come from the development of relevant skills and abilities of the participants 3) The increasing accessibility of professional training. Proven dealing with innovative themes increases the attractiveness of studying and growing interest of trainees 4) Collaboration and partnerships with businesses to bridge the skills gap, ensuring the relevance of curricula 5) Enhancing the professional profile of the trainers, of their cooperativeness, self-esteem, confidence and responsibility 6) Understand the importance of lifelong learning and the European dimension of education. The project involves 60 persons (3 flows to Italy, Poland and Spain). Managers of Human resources, of training planning and instructors who teach topics on green economy applications in the primary and tertiary sectors and promote issues on innovation and entrepreneurship. Participants in the project through a comprehensive package of actions contained in the Learning Plan, will be involved in activities that include training sessions, Workshops and Discussions (will be held in the facilities of the host partners) Thematic Visits to institutions, organizations and businesses for exchange of experience and transfer of good practices and cultural visits . Beneficiaries will also participate in the activities of preparation and dissemination of project results. The project performance is governed by absolute transparency in all processes and applies the principles and methodology of adult education, with emphasis on relevance needs-training content, relevance and flexibility of Educational Media used and the support and assistance of the trainees. Through the project is expected to: 1) Acquisition of new knowledge and skills on green economy applications for: A) indication modes configuration of green profile to a business and promotional motivations for adopting green technology solutions B) enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs by adapting the operational plans to the demands of the green economy 2) Valid information and transfer of knowledge to students and graduates of the PLs for the possibilities and prospects of sustainable green business 3) Increase the accessibility of professional training and reduce of the dropout phenomenon 4) Participation of beneficiaries in each coordinated effort to promote the applications of green economy, contributing positively to the filing of experience and showcase of good practices from Italy, Poland and Spain. Strategically enlarged Dissemination of results, followed in the project, specific emphasis is given on size and time that will keep the project impact on local communities, in the region of Thessaly, but also at National and European level. Specifically, the impact includes (see H.1): creating a favorable climate for the development of skills - abilities in applications of green economy at local and regional level, transfer of best practices, exploring new markets and increasing trade relations and transnational cooperation, enlargement of openness in the local community to find partnerships at local, regional and European level.
