Diverse Europe project is aimed to promote knowledge of European languages, culture and societies. Participation in this project will support the development of new methods of teaching foreign languages at different levels of education. It will also promote the use of foreign languages in teaching other subjects. Overall, the project will lead to enrichment of teaching techniques.General objectives:The aim of taking part in this project is to increase language skills of school employees and to improve the quality of school management. Promoting the benefits of learning languages amongst students and fellow teachers will aid in raising awareness of social, language and cultural diversity. We wish to expand the level in which new tools such as ICT and web pages are used. We also intend to increase international cooperation by taking part in more EU projects.Project participants:The participants of our project are teachers of different subjects, work experience and level of foreign language proficiency: three English teachers – level C1, a French teacher, level C1, a Geography teacher - English, Level B1, a Physical Education teacher (headmaster) - English, level B1.Project outline:Working as a team we have chosen the project topic, defined its aims and prepared a project plan with defined time lines. We are currently executing the project plan. At the end of the project we will prepare and give a public presentation of the project results, which we will also advertise in local newspapers, at parent-teacher conferences and on the school website.Methods of project management:Members of our project are cooperating in the development of the main objectives using modern IT technologies and various sources of information. At present we are organizing regular meetings to plan and evaluate our job experience.Expected results:We will continue to enhance teaching skills and abilities as well as encourage students to learn foreign languages. Furthermore, we are planning to develop international cooperation via Internet and participate in European projects.Potential benefits in the long term:Participants of the project will be consolidating their language skills and broadening methodological and didactical horizons. These skills will be used in their everyday work routine. We are open to new information technology used for teaching and everyday life. We hope to extend international friendships made during the courses which could encourage students and teachers to learn foreign languages.
