PROJECT
FINISHED
The goal of the project Educational spaces 21. Open up! is to help schools modernize their learning and teaching spaces, in order to better fit the needs and challenges of XXI century education. Most Polish and European schools are using a traditional school model which often hinders the student’s learning progress.
Therefore, within the project’s framework an international team of experts (from Germany, Sweden and Poland) will elaborate a set of educational materials: three guides concerning opening spaces in three crucial areas: architecture (design, user experience, infrastructure), technology (teaching and learning online, ICT use), and social (the school community, the local community, connecting with the world); as well as a set of online and on-site training materials for educators.
A previous detailed research conducted in all participating counties will help to identify key problems of the educational environment and focus on finding and describing best solutions.
Next, a group of expert-schools will apply and test the given solutions and elaborate a set of good practices for other practitioners on how to introduce the changes effectively and wisely.
All intellectual outputs of the project will be widely disseminated in all participating countries, under Creative Commons Licenses, both in the printed and online version. The outputs will be distributed in four language versions: German, Swedish, Polish and English which will allow to benefit from the project not only schools from participating countries but also from the whole EU.
The CC licenses and the wide dissemination of the outputs will help school directors, teachers, local authorities, students and parents to use and adapt all the proposed solutions, create their own strategies of modernization, and to open schools even more for the challenges of the modern world.
