The volunteer in Dabrowa will work primarily for the benefit of the students of the school and the local community through a variety of tasks such as: organizing non-obligatory school activities (language, sports, dance, literary and musical clubs), the animation of the local community (in cooperation with the therapeutic center, kindergarten and Cultura Centre), running the Senior Language Club, promotion of intercultural and EVS (through meetings and workshops). In SOSW volunteer task will be to supporting children with disabilities and special needs. They will assist in the daily activities (computer, artistic, sport and musical classes), assist during meals and school outings. Volunteers from both institutions will be encouraged to organize "mini" projects and will be given the chance to learn the language and learn about our culture and the region. The volunteer in School Complex in Gródku will conduct sports and intercultural non-obligatory clases, will perform animations with children at the school and will be improving the quality of standard lessons by offering innovative methods and interesting exercises. The aim of the project is to increase knowledge about the culture of the countries participating in the project, increase the mobility of young citizens of the countries close to EU and develop international cooperation of young people. We want our actions to increase the curiousity about language and culture of Eastern Europe among young people through non-formal education. We will provide space to gain experience and intercultural education which will help to break down cultural barriers and stereotypes. We enable young people to acquire skills that will increase the chances of young people in the labor market. We will achieve our goals through methods that promote activity and creativity, such as: workshops, language and intercultural activities and interesting games. Through the project, not only host organizations will be supported in their activities, but also have the opportunity to spice up its educational offer with new and interesting items. In SOSW volunteers assist children who need individual care and attention. Through the initiative of the local community will have the opportunity to learn tolerance and mutual respect, residents will become more open and understanding for other people. We believe that the project encourages children and young people from the region (as well as their families) to operate and active citizenship. Our project has an educational dimension, and its main premise is to enhance intercultual understanding. We want to show volunteers and our partners that using intercultural knowledge contributes to the personal development and organization. We shouldn not only identify, understand and accept cultural differences. People and organizations should take cultural differences as a source of inspiration, new knowledge and experience. Then we will be open for changes and another way of thinking, we will be able to use the opportunities that gives looking at issuses from intercultural point of view.
