EDS v Quo Vadis
Start date: Aug 1, 2016, End date: Jul 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

NGO Priatelia Quo Vadis is in charge of running comunity center "Dom Quo Vadis". There is a team of slovak volunteers involved, so we decided to enhance the comunity by involving EVS volunteers from Germany and Spain. We believe, that comunity will benefit from their service; either from their works, or from them being positive example of volunteer, or from the intercultural "wind" their presence will bring. Goals of this project are:1. reflect and develop management skills of organisation and its volunteers2. provide a possibility for EVS volunteers to develop themselves on proffesional and personal level, so they will know better what to do in the future (if to go on university or go to work).3. offer the possibility to learn foreign languages to young people and people with less opportunities4. grinding edges and learning to be tolerant and adaptable (in the meaning of intercultural dimension of project) among EVS volunteer, volunteer comunity of Quo Vadis and visitors of our center and improving soft skills of members of community around Quo Vadis.5. raise awareness about EVS, EU and EU values Volunteers will be helping to organise events held in the center, working in volunteer cafetearia, help with german and spanish lessons in school, organise german and spanish conversation in the center, working on promotion of our center, update website and facebookpage of the organisation. Marc is going to cooperate with civic organisation Krídla to provide english lessons for people who suffer mental illnesses. Pia is going to offer flute lessons for public and lead drama workshop. The outome of drama workshop will be short videos to play on our TV or to public on website. The project will have impact on - the organisation itself (gaining new competencies and experiences with hosting EVS and working with young people- volunteer comunity in the organisation (intercultural dialog, possibility to learn spanish and german, seing good role model of active citizens)- visitors of our center (working on tolerance and inhibiting predjudices, possibility to learn foreign languages and to have intercultural experience without leaving Slovakia) - people with less opportunities that would have a chance to work on their language skills - EVS volunteers, who will gain new skills and competencies , learn to survive in real life situation and get more independence from their parrents and families. The long term benefit for the volunteer will be the competencies gained through the service, that will help them to find their way in life and to get a job after the service.
