According to European requirements for quality education for youth realization at the labour market, was elaborated the European Strategic Development plan of General Secondary School “Hristo Botev” On the plan base are identified the following priority goals:
- Increasing the teachers’ quality qualification in English
- Acquirement of new methods, application of ICT in teaching English and entrepreneurship
- Increasing the staff management skills in its participation in international projects
- Improvement the organization capacity through mastering the language skills in international initiatives
Participation in courses with different topics related to project management, application of the ICT, innovative methods in teaching would enrich the teachers’ professionalization.
For taking part in the courses are chosen 6 teachers from our school who are willing to attend training course abroad, have good language skills, are willing to integrate the European idea in teaching.
The main activities in our plan refer to three stages: preparatory activities, activities during the courses and activities after the course end.
Preparatory activities are related to the preliminary communication of our team with the educational institutions for choosing suitable courses, studying their programmes, setting up selection criteria and making candidates’ choice, printing educational and advertisement materials.
Activities during the courses include the participation in five courses whose topics coincide with the identified needs – increase the teachers’ language and computer skills, learning innovative methods and techniques in teaching, acquirement of management skills for European project realization, improvement of multicultural skills for a successful partnership.
Activities after the course end are related to the dissemination of the new acquired experience among our colleagues in the school and the Municipality through sample lessons, discussions with students and parents’ body.
The methodology for the successful realization of our project includes the choice of suitable management team, the right choice of the candidates according to selection criteria and ways of evaluation how the new acquired competences shall be implemented in lessons and projects.
The project impact affects on course participants, participant organization, students, parents’ body and finally on the Municipality.
Course participants:
- Improved and enriched language skills
- Acquired new methods and techniques in teaching during our lessons, applied ICT in English language teaching
- Realized contacts with colleagues for future strategic partnership under the Programme Erasmus + - KA 2
- Improved management skills which can be multiplied on other colleagues in our school and other schools in the Municipality
Participant organization:
- Overall improvement of the school prestige in our region as a result of the new acquired teachers’ qualification in international environment
- Increased quality of education taking into consideration European standards
- Extended application of new educational software in English and other school subjects
- School open- minded to European ideology, acquired management skills for implementation of projects on different topics and students exchanges
Students:
- Improved language and computer skills in order to have successful realization on the labour market
- Increased motivation for learning foreign languages
- Realized contacts with their peers from other European countries, organized by teachers taken part in the training courses
- Prevention of the students’ drop out from school
Parents’ body
- Increased number of parents who support the school policy oriented to better teachers’ professionalization
- Parents who will be willing to cooperate and take part in projects for students’ mobilities
The training of the first teachers’ team will inspire our teaching staff to take part in international training courses in the future. This will affect on our students through improvement of their language, multicultural and social skills. By expanding these skills, the students will be better prepared in the future for the demands of the national and international labour market.
