The furniture industry is undergoing restructuring. The importance of cooperation throughout the manufacturing cycle is essential, to act on costs and increase added value. Our goal is to work in eco-designed products development in the furniture industry, in high added value products and in development of new technologies in eco-design, taking into account two essential aspects: Design and Ecology. Achievements: State of the art of project implementation since the project startSince the beginning of the project, we have worked to reach ECOMOVEL main objective: The development of the Eco-design in the furniture sector. For reach that objective we organized the Kick Off Meeting and 6 more SCM (the 5th was in Murcia (18-20 April 2012) and the 6th was in Florence in September 2012). Some of the Communication tools and another outputs/results have already been carried out: - Project logo - Flyer - Newsletter number 1, 2, 3 and 4 (Electronic and paper version) - Website - Press Releases and news in newspapers - Eco-design Guidelines and State of the art - Compact Guidelines - Tool box - Roll ups - Development of the self assessment tools - Companies research, analysis of that information and development of the pilot projects in cooperation with furniture companies - the development of the new methodologie for the eco-conception - the development of the Self Assessment ToolLatest project activities and outputsDuring the reported period the most important activities were: - the ToolBOX presentation to the furniture companies - communication actions - the 4th newsletter - the website upgrade (with more than 6000 connexions) - the important work that we have done to the correct implementation of the pilot projects and to finalize the benchmarking and strategic analysis of the project. - the work with companies of the furniture sector to select the most appropriated to implement the pilot activities regarding the innovation and environmental sustainability.
