Presently, the construction industry is becoming increasingly international. Through this Program, students will develop a greater appreciation for international practices, culture, and technology. The current project is the continuation of a partnership started in 2010 with the Vocational Department of Spyken High School in Lünd, which moved in to Vipan Gymansienskolan Vocational High School also located in Lünd. Our goal is to implement work placements in various fields of the construction industry. Being immersed in the professional sector abroad will allow the trainees to achieve the following: - Develop an ability to adapt to new techniques and professional regulations. - Be able to communicate orally in a foreign language necessary to work effectively in an international environment. - Familiarize themselves with professional digital tools. - Develop autonomy and the ability to adapt to another social and cultural environment. - Take into account the requirements linked to environmental excellence (waste management, short supply circuits, insulation, use of renewable materials) - Gain recognition of their professional skills outside their home country. - Adapt to a European harmonization of professional practices that favor the creation of a European professional identity. - Facilitate employability and access to higher education for the students involved. And more generally, thanks international mobility, a more positive image of the schools’ training programs will emerge, making them more attractive. Hence, new perspectives will open for young people wishing to have a successful professional career within a widened geographical area.
