This will result to traffic calming in the cross-border network and inside the secondary network of the cities and the regions of actions, less emissions and improvement of the residents’ daily quality of life. The environmental effect of the project will be measured using two mobile laboratories of CERTH (HIT and CPERI), creating also an environmental observatory for the cross-border area. In addition, the safety rules and the network conditions of every specific path in the cross-border network, which connects the participating cities, will be known, resulting to more careful driving and to a reduction of the number of road accidents. The information that will be provided through the EasyTrip e-services, in combination with the proposed alternative routes and paths, will upgrade the accessibility of the specific areas and will also promote alternative destinations in every participating region, lile the mountain destinations of Krumovgrad. This will contribute to the economic upgrade of specific places as well as to the equal opportunities for development and sustainable growth. Finally, the project results will answer to the demand of the EC for green and sustainable transport, improvement and support of the intermodality and protection of the environment, as the proposed services will enhance the public transport modes by providing specific information and directions for trips by bus or train.
