E4C – E-learning for CNC machines operators

Research of the European education and training market has proven the need to develop initiatives to bridge the gap between offer and demand on the labour market in operating CNC machines, preparing technologies and mastering CAD/CAM procedures. This project wants to contribute to the methodology how to attract and train people for these new jobs and provide them with specific knowledge and basic skills to operate CNC machines. The E-Learning programme to be developed will contain modules on: communication with PC, mathematic for CAD/CAM assessments, basic knowledge of CAD/CAM programming, model simulating the work of the CNC machine, development of the test cases for learners (virtual products). The main target groups of the project are school attendants who want to orient their career in the manufacturing industry, school leavers disadvantaged on the labour market due to the lack of orientation, people skilled in traditional manufacturing procedures who want to increase their skills in operating CNC machines. Specific results will be available in English and presented on both the project web site and on a CD-Rom. Each participating country will translate the materials into their own language. The dissemination and exploitation of results will be organised on several levels: consortium to business, consortium to external, partner to partner, institution to institution, company, school or other institutional level using a website, seminars, articles, media discussions, pilot trainings, and offering the training modules to companies and social partners.
