E - teacher – the Praca Otwartość Wymiana Edukacja Rozwój of polish education
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

Incorporating the latest technologies into educational process has been a standard procedure for ten or fifteen years. It enables the teachers to improve the efficiency of the way the didactic content is passed to students and it makes the activities more attractive. It also makes the material easier to absorb. Audiovisual didactic sources have been effectively used for years by teachers. To improve the quality of our work we have introduced numerous technological innovations, among many others, by the usage of tools provided by the eTwinning platform. As we are ourselves devoted users of digital technologies methods we would like to find out more about them. That is because the continuing improvement of our expertise and raising the standards of our didactic work have always been our overall aim. Therefore, craving for new experience and facing the present education we established cooperation with partners from Croatia and Malta. That is to show we highly value the possibility of constant skill sharing, discussions, creative action and professional development. All the above mentioned lead to one end, raising the standards of the teaching staff and making the learning process more pleasant, target oriented and effective, resulting in good results on external exams. As for the method of learning through skill and experience sharing, it is one of the best ways there is. By observing our partners and exchanging our experience we will be able to put the methods that proved efficient in their case into practice and avoid mistakes they made. That in return will make our work even more efficient. Our participation in the project is also aimed at improving our language skills and raising cultural awareness as the teachers themselves will be able to appreciate some "Big C" and "Little c" culture, visit new sites, taste traditional cuisine, get to know traditions and folklore and learn respect for diversity. It is vital for us, Europeans, to discover that diversity, learn tolerance and open ourselves to different cultures. We are not able to teach others how to be open and tolerant if we are not culturally and geographically aware ourselves.Reasonable usage of all the latest technology resources, improving one's skills and tools, searching for new ways of inspiration to make interesting lessons (inspiration that is valued even more due to the fact that it comes from other teachers), gaining new skills and qualifications, inter alia, linguistic, breaking through the mental, cultural and linguistic barriers and, last but not least, overcoming job burnout are all main aims of our project.During our stay in partner schools we would like to concentrate not on the techniques but rather on the effects of applying Information and communication technology to teaching. Therefore teachers of various subjects were included to work in the project. Once they return they will be able to share their insights with their colleagues from their subject-based teams.A head teacher of one of the educational institutions subject to the municipality of Kamienna Góra will also take part in the project in order to learn about the educational systems, teaching programs, grading and evaluation in Croatia and Malta. Their task will be to support the improvement of didactic methods applied in schools of the municipality of Kamienna Góra, encouragement and help given to teachers with project construction and discovering new ways of education management. The group of teachers is planning on going to Spain and Malta during winter and summer holidays owing to which their absence will not disrupt the school day to day running.
