E-Teacher 2.0 - Empowering Teacher´s ICT-Pedagogical Competencies

Targeted aims and expected results1. The project will contribute to improvements in quality and innovation in education, by improving teachers' ICT pedagogical competencies. - A self-evaluation tool for teachers' ICT‐pedagogical competencies will be developed and trial-run, relating to international frameworks and national need analyses.2. The project will support teachers in implementing ICT pedagogical methods. - The further education module 'E‐teacher 2.0' will facilitate the process of redidactization and empower teachers in integrating Web 2.0 into teaching, update teachers with new technologies and prepare for new relevant technologies as they emerge. Based on previous best‐practice projects, the module will be developed jointly by the project partners as a generic model, adaptable to local needs, within an internationally agreed upon framework. 'E‐teacher 2.0' will be trial‐run as national versions in each partner country for evaluation and optimization. 3. The project aims towards national and border-crossing transparency and recognition. - An accreditation of 'E‐teacher 2.0' / integration into continuing education in each partner country is targeted.The project will have direct impact on the students, teachers, lecturers and teacher education institutions involved in trial runs of 'E‐teacher 2.0' ‐ and vice versa. Impacts on the partners’ national education systems are targeted, through relating to national priorities, actively involving stakeholders as ‘expert panels’ and implementing national initiatives. The consortium covers 5 well‐esteemed teacher education institutions in Denmark, Turkey, Norway, The Netherlands and Portugal, with the Danish college Hansenberg as user-steering stakeholder for practice‐based teacher training. Furthermore, 2 European organizations will contribute with international views and disseminating results to European countries. Hansenberg holds the lead, with the Metropolitan University College as consultant. All partners have performed in international projects, with international visions in their strategies. Decision makers in each partner country will be involved, to support dissemination and mainstreaming results.
