PROJECT
FINISHED
This project originates from the analysis of the needs of our school and the awareness of its weaknesses points. The area where the school is located has huge potentialities but its teaching action has not been able, so far, to create synergistic dynamics between the school and the world of work. The school has different courses (ranging from Lyceums to Technical and Vocational Education for Tourism and Catering) but the students do not succeed in finding/creating a job, due to the gap between the didactic choices and the territory needs. Therefore we need to modernize our teaching action and to find new ways of organization of staff and timetable, in order to reach our students' future success. For that reason we intend to plan an activity of job shadowing in order to observe other and more effective organizational patterns and didactic strategies, aiming to interacte with the surrounding reality. The partner seems to meet our needs because it is located in one of the most imporrtant wine growing areas in Spain (Wine from La Mancha and Valdepeñas), where wine production is a propulsion for other activities, linked to tourism and hopistality. The teaching choices of the school aim to achieve interaction with the territory. The main objectives of the project are:- get information on the partner's didactic action and organizational pattern;- observe how the receiving school interact with its territory;- observe how different subjects' teaching meets the territory's needs;- compare the two wine production and distribution systems ;- understand how wine production and distribution can stimulate the development of other economic activities;- create long lasting relationships with the partner;- put in contact productive organizations operating in La Solana with others operating in our area;- make the students interact with the territory.NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: 15PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS: 3 members of managerial staff, 12 teachers.ACTIVITY: Job shadowing (12 days + 2). The participants will travel to the partner organization in groups of 5 (starting from sptember 2015). The first group will start the procedure throgh a first observation, the second will integrate the data received by the first ad the third group will finish the activity and produce the final results. Between one mobility and the other, the participants will share information with the other collegues and, together, they will start some sperimentation on a group of students. The participants' work will be continuously monitored and evaluated by the appointed team. During the activities carried out at the Modesto Navarro Institute (classes' obervation, workshop with the Spanish collegues, contacts with students) will be used the English language. We reckon that the planned activity will have an impact on participants, staff of both schools, students, territory. The participants will:- improve their professional profile;- learn new didactic strategies;- improve language skiils in English;- improve information technology skills;- improve their knowledge of the territory and its needs. The students and the school staff will benefit from the results of the activity throgh the implementation of new didactic methodology. The experience will start a network of relationships among different scools of the area, local organizations, productives companies, cultural associations, which will get and give new input in order to create future cooperation for other projects.
