E-PRAGMATIC- E-Learning and Practical Training of Mechatronics and Alternative Technologies in Industrial Community
Start date: Nov 1, 2010,
The purpose of E-PRAGMATIC network is to modernize mechatronics/engineering vocational training of adults by enhancing existing or establishing new in-house training methods in enterprises. Up-to-date knowledge and educational methods will be brought directly from the educational institutions to industry. A number of high quality learning modules delivering mechatronics/engineering knowledge are going to be prepared by partners from educational institutions (EDU partners, P1, P4-7, A2). Two-thirds of modules will address specific local knowledge and skills needs of industrial partners (IND partners, P3, P8-13, A1, A3). Rest of modules will address general and future knowledge and skills needs of basic mechatronics and alternative technologies/alternative energy sources. Altogether at least 18 practically oriented modules with remote experiments will be offered in a modern learning portal. Provided contents and learning functionalities will enable employees/apprentices/trainees to acquire new professional skills and enhance their job performance. Integrated into portal will be E-PRAGMATIC Community of professionals for sharing knowledge, information and expertise.Pilot training with at least 100 participants will be carried out to evaluate project results. Further, training of future teaching instructors from IND partners will be delivered, ensuring that the training will be incorporated into in-house industry training. The network's aims are: (1) to find out which are by industry required knowledge and skills in mechatronics/engineering; (2) to prepare adequate practically oriented learning modules; (3) to enhance and modernize in-house training methods of EU industry by incorporation of content/functionalities available in advanced learning portal; (4) to develop alternative technologies/energy sources learning modules and stimulate shift toward low-carbon industry; (5) to support Community of professionals and strengthen links between EDU and IND partners.
