e-Fashion - Integrating the use of ICT and Multimedia in Vocational Education and Training Provisions of Clothing and Textile Design
The overall aim of the e-Fashion project is to develop and test new teaching and learning methods, using existing ICT and multimedia tools, in the vocational education and training sector of the clothing and textile industry. The clothing and textile industry needs to meet the demands of technological innovation in its teaching delivery, and project partners intend to address these needs by bridging the skills gap in ICT and multimedia knowledge and use with regard to upper secondary school and higher educational establishments in the field. The project partnership will undertake research on new working methods in the fashion and manufacturing industries of clothing and textile design, and will identify skills gaps. From here, different learning tools that utilise ICT and multimedia will be developed and tested by the project partners, and new tools will be adopted for vocational education in clothing and textile design. The project partnership will be launched as a European network entitled 'e-Fashion'. Project objectives will result in concrete outputs centred on a learning package for vocational teachers and trainers titled 'Learning to Teach Clothing and Textile Design with ICT and Multimedia'; a self-learning package for students and people in vocational training titled 'Learning to Present my Clothing and Textile Design with ICT and Multimedia'; a general guide to accompany the project titled 'Integrating ICT and Multimedia in Vocational Education and Training for Clothing and Textile Design'; an internet and intranet-based project website; scientific articles; five national workshop-based seminars; and a European conference, held in Brussels, at the end of the project. The website, articles, workshops and end-conference will play a major part in the dissemination of end project results.
