The plan of the project:One of the main objectives of Katolickie Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace has always been to develop English language competence in order to provide our students with a better opportunity for personal development in a small town such as Mława. What is more, we believe that by striving to improve the language, we enable and encourage the students to pursue their career in bigger cities, and even in the European Union countries. Our school cannot achieve that without the development of our teaching and administrative staff. For this reason, we would like to take part in Key Action 1 of Erasmus+ program in order to improve professional qualifications of the staff and prepare them to establish and then conduct lessons in bilingual classes. The objectives of the project:1) Preparing the school to establish bilingual classes;2) Improving the English language skills;3) Professional development of the staff (teaching, projects, presentations, administering the school);4) Achieving a better-qualified staff, who will be more professional in communicating with non-Polish speakers;5) Intensifying the tolerance for other cultures and languages and the courage in international liaison;6) Increasing the opportunity for professional career development;7) Increasing the motivation and satisfaction in everyday responsibilities, which will act for the benefit of the students and will enhance the school’s educational offer.The participants of the project and the main actions taken as part of the mobility1) Four teachers and the secretary- taking part in English language courses;2) English, Polish, Mathematics, History teachers- taking part in teacher training courses;3) Headmaster- English language course with elements of presentation and public speaking.The abridgment of the actions and the methodology used in the project realization:1) The analysis of the weak points and the needs of the school as well as individual employees, which may be eliminated by taking part in language and teacher training courses;2) The selection of the mobility participants according to specific criteria; the selection of courses, which will contribute to eliminating the individual weak points of the employees and will prepare them to teach in bilingual classes;3) The usage of the knowledge and experience gained at the courses in order to plan changes, which our school must introduce to achieve the long-term objectives.4) Developing the plan of implementing the new methods, pedagogical, methodological, organizational, which will contribute to our school’s European development plan.Anticipated results and the influence of the project:1) Improving professional qualifications of four teachers: English, Polish, Mathematics, History teachers; three of them will take part in teacher training courses which will prepare them to conduct the lessons in bilingual classes;2) Developing foreign language skills of each participant of the courses, which might eliminate their weak points and enable them to prepare themselves for international liaison using eTwinning;3) Implementing new teaching methods using new instruments;4) Improving the curriculum.Potential long-term benefits:1) Preparing the school for establishing bilingual classes;2) Improving the quality of the school’s educational offer and international liaison;3) Increasing the opportunity of a better professional development of our students;4) Intensifying the tolerance and respect for other people, not only by the mobility participants, but also by each addressee of the project.
