Drawing your future
Drawing your future
Start date: Jan 7, 2015,
End date: Apr 7, 2016
PROJECT
FINISHED
‘Drawing your future’ is a long term EVS; we plan to host in Como 1 volunteer for a period of 8 months and carry out a project aimed to acquire, develop and transfer new skills, new perspectives and new meaningful relationships.
The main aim of this project is promoting voluntary activities among young people with a special attention to European awareness and active citizenship, thus implementing a project in which young people may freely express their capacities in terms of solidarity and spirit of enterprise; the volunteers will be involved mainly in actions related to young people so that their contribution will be peer to peer. Another goal is to support and help our associations of volunteers in raising European Awareness, knowing more about EU , its functioning and history. We would like to strengthen the sense of belonging to Europe and to help local voluntary groups and their volunteers to raise awareness on this issue, stimulating curiosity on European Union.
Both the partners (Italian and French one) think the project can stimulate and reinforce the social and active commitment either of involved volunteers, citizens and of organizations; besides they believe it also can enhance the European cooperation, tarnish the public perception of volunteering in young people and help to build a more open society based on solidarity.
There are two areas in which volunteers will be involved: the promotion of youth voluntarism (meetings with youngsters and students from primary to high schools, organization of volunteers’ Festival and workshops, organization of EVS promotional meetings) and communication- media (studying of images and message produced by the associations, knowing how to find and choose the images, build an archive by type and use, developing skills in graphics; managing web-site, social networks and cooperate to the production of printed material such as pamphlets, leaflets, posters; involving in the organization, promotion and logistics of some significant AVC events).
So the volunteer will perform in Italy concrete activities alongside the local Center which promotes voluntarism and supports in their needs local voluntary organizations.
The hosted volunteer should have a good attitude to the human relations; he/she has to share the principle of active citizenship and openness towards the others; should have availability to work in group.
We would like to host a volunteer who is interested in youth animation and volunteerism in the social field, a young who expresses an interest towards the world of graphics and communication. A particular attention it will be given to particularly curious and dynamic people. Spirit of enterprise, autonomy of work, good relationship capacity will be appreciated.
The results that the volunteer can achieve are: increasing social, cultural, intercultural and personal skills, competences and knowledges; contributing to the development and implementation of non-profit and community activities; acquiring, developing and transferring new communication skills (new language, nonverbal communication, graphic skills, planning events ..), opening up to new perspectives and new thinking, greater awareness of the concept of European citizenship and their role within the community.
