Donner une dimension européenne au Lycée George Sand
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our project joins in our will to open to Europe. It is a collective new process in our teaching staff. Our school is at a turning point in its history. Indeed our school, which belongs to the Department of Agriculture, has just established a partnership with the nearby high school “Emmanuel Chabrier” which belongs to the Ministry of Education. New classes have been opened with a new European option causing a mutualization of our resources, our buildings, our teachers and our educational practices. The goals of our project are diverse but we can list the main ones : updating and consolidation of our linguistic expertise , a better knowledge of the British or any other English speaking country civilization and the diversification of the teaching methods for the English class and for the CLIL option. The project concerns three female English teachers (EFL) and one male mathematics teacher in “DELE” (CLIL). The activities will consist in courses made by schools fully authorized by Erasmus Plus and located in the United Kingdom , Ireland or another English speaking country. These courses will be chosen and adapted according to the needs of every teacher. The immediate impact will be an improvement of the teaching practices and the content of the courses . Among other things, this will allow the English teachers to be in complete accordance with the CEFRL (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) expectations that highlights the importance of oral expression and it will also allow the CLIL teacher to perfectly prepare the new promotion of students for the exam option in their high school diploma (Science A Levels ). The possible benefits in the long term would be the consolidation of the contacts made during the stay and the creation of a European partnership (school trips, internships abroad, different virtual or actual exchanges ….)
