"Don Quichotte generation" is a project gathering 56 young people from Turkey, Finland, Romania, Germany, France, Bulgaria, Spain, from the 24th of July to the 15th of August 2015 in 2 different rural locations in Cantal and Puy de Dôme in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, in a dramatic context of rising of the nationalists ideas and extreme right votes in Europe and after the Paris, Ankara and Istanbul terrorist attacks. To face the development of radicalization and nationalists or religious ideologies, while fear is constantly progressing and a disintegration is possible of our societies and of the European Union, we want to take the opposite way and to create new common actions. We want to gather around the theme of our Youth European ideals in order to take this fight against hate around the theme and the symbolic piece of Don Quixotte that marks the birth of a European literature and of a character without borders who throw himself headlong for his justice and love ideal. We will do so redefining our common values of freedom, solidarity and individual human rights with a participative method, organizing debates, discussions, reflexions to nourish our creative artistic workshops to conceive new diffusion formats for our ideas, using disciplines such as caricatures, theatre, video and living arts. Managed by the participants themselves, with the contributions of professionals to strengthen and nourish the debates and to give other tools of expression and action, these workshops will open new exciting spaces for dialogue where each of the participant will be able to present, deconstruct and reconstruct his/her point of you while confronting others' opinions, searching for a common action to give hopes in our environments and societies around renewed European ideals, presented to the audiences and broadcast to contribute to the civic life. Using participative methods and creative practices will lead to a large varieties of productions that will be widely shared : in the villages of Riom-ès-Montagnes and Saint-Nectaire with public presentations with multidisciplinary shifting performances, and beyond, with the diffusion of specific formats conceived for Internet (short movies, video clips, testimonies, ideals of today around the theme of Don Quixote), through the social networks and French, European and International platforms of exchanges. We hope that the project will warn our inhabitants and people from the different countries about the risks if we are not able to raise our ambitions for the European Union, reason for what we need a large and new mobilization to build a free, creative, green, multicultural, welcoming Europe, without poverty and unemployment.
