PROJECT
FINISHED
The organisation Eco-osada considers the participation of young people from different parts of Slovakia and the Czech Republic and other European countries whether for short stays or EDS mutually very beneficial for the development of eco-village.
The aim of the project is to complete the eco-village, to create a farm (breeding of domestic animals and subsequent processing of their products) and make final designs. We want volunteers to get the opportunity to see how the eco-village transforms to its functionality.
We want to encourage volunteers in promoting the principles of ecology and the knowledge on food energy and financial self-sufficiency, in creating the conditions for a return to natural life by principles of sustainable living.
Two volunteers will participate in the project - young people over 18 who do not need to have experience with project activities but are interested in the project objectives and like discovering new dimensions.
The main project activities include tasks related to the completion of eco houses (final editing, working with plaster, decoration of walls), building of shelters, fences for animals and paths. Other activities are related to the organizing courses at the School of natural engineering, organizing various events, helping with the self-help construction made of natural materials.
Volunteers gain not only skills, expertise and knowledge from different fields of natural engineering, permaculture, breeding of domestic animals and organizational skills by organizing courses but also experience related to community living. They personally experience the normal cycle of making eco-villages.
The presence of people from different cultures enriches not only the eco-village itself but local neighbours as well and that encourages volunteers to be integrated into a wider circle of people not only from the eco-village. The project result is the transformation of the eco-village to its functionality.
Long-term benefits of the project are perceived as increasing public awareness of eco-villages, ecology, natural engineering, farming and sustainable way of life.
