Dobry zawód jest niezawodny na europejskim rynku pracy.

In the project the group of 16 second- and thirdth –grade students from the School Complex of Zespół Szkół Budowlanych im. Powstańców Śląskich in Katowice participated in the abroad traineeship. The students learn to become:
- technician of building,
- technician of geodesy,
- technician of tailoring,
- technician of landscape architecture.
The students left in a group consisting of 16 people (4 persons from each profession). The project was conducted from 15th December 2014 to 14th December 2015.
The place of the students’ training was the city of Sofia (Bulgaria). The aim of the training project was to familiarize the students with practical elements of their future occupation. Further, the training made it possible for the students to improve their professional language skills. Trainees did undergo the professional training in companies and workshops selected by the Bulgarian partner.
The students took up a challenge of confronting the knowledge they had already gained against its practical implementation in the reality of a foreign country – Bulgaria. For this reason salient criteria of selecting students for the project included the ability to communicate English, interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a group as well as overcoming the fear of going abroad.
The subjects taking part in the project were:

Training of the group lasted 2 weeks. The students were accompanied by 2 counsellors who monitored the course of the training and took care of the students as well as helped them to adapt to the multicultural environment. The project was an answer to the need of proper preparation of teenagers for activity in the labour market and joining the professional education with the needs of the labour market. The applicant was aware of the fact that school plays an important role in the process of preparing young people for taking actions connected with the first job. Conducting the project, the applicant intended to get the students ready for professional activity. The applicant also intended to prepare young technicians to taking actions in different economical and social circumstances. The companies selected by the partners suited the professional profile of the students in order to provide maximum profits from the training undergone.
The main aims of the project included: gaining professional experience in the international environment, improvement of a foreign language command, enhancement of self-confidence, gaining new theoretical and practical knowledge.
The expected results were:
- gaining practical experience and skills during the abroad training and implementing them in the Polish labour market,
- gaining new professional skills and work methods,
- enhancement of the students’ chances to find employment and participate in the European labour market,
- enhancement of attraction of the students as the future workers and gaining a competitive position in the labour market after graduating from school,
- confirmation of the gained skills with the document Europass Mobility,
- practical use of technical terminology in UE languages,
- improvement of English language skills through its practical use,
- preparation of materials (after finishing the training) such as presentations and films that might be used during school classes.
