Diversity our Value

The multilateral youth exchange entitled “Diversity our Value”, organized by YAK as the host organization in cooperation with KRIIK Albania, BYA Bosnia, ICC Bulgaria, JEF Croatia, UNESCO Youth Club Thessaloniki – Greece, YCCB FYROM, IAESTE Poland, Generator Serbia and 24KALB Turkey, will take place in Krusevo (FYROM) from 15th to 22nd September 2011. In a multicultural, informal environment 58 active and motivated young people from 9 countries will exchange views and ideas all in order to achieve the objectives of the project which include: -fostering exchange and tolerance between young people from different cultural background in order to raise awareness about our differences as our common values;-promotion of the intrinsic values of volunteering such as solidarity, sharing and social cohesion which are core values in the development of intercultural dialogue;- encouraging young people to become active citizens. The main theme:“In the middle of diversities lie common values” will be developed through various subtopics such as:Culture as meeting point, Understanding cultural diversity, Volunteering as a mean of an intercultural dialogue, EU values–Our values etc.The concept of the main activities includes presentations, thematic workshops, open sharing discussions, public debate, games and other methods of non-formal learning.Priorities that are considered by the project are: participation of young people and cultural diversity(permanent priorities); promotion of volunteering(annual priority);develop mutual understanding between young people in a spirit of openness(specific action priorities).To sum up, the content of the eight days long program of this YE, shows that “Diversity our Value” is a methodological instrument for raising awareness, education, activism and opening of the spirit by getting to know each other, and at the same time, it is a tool for promoting intercultural understanding, tolerance and respect as values of young people.
