Diversity in Connection
Start date: Jan 2, 2012,

Egyesek will host a partnership making seminar Diversity in Connection. It will take place in Hollókő and Budapest, Hungary from the 20th till the 27th of February, 2012. The 8-day long project's main themes - reflecting on the needs of our partners and using their knowledge and experience - are to enable organisations to effectively use the results of local youthwork in international context and to plough back results to local youth; to involve youth with less opportunities (focusing on rural youth, who are also immigrants/unemployed/poor); to integrate them in our non-formal network of organisations. The objectives are to create possiblities to share best practices and knowledge on including young people with fewer opportunities in local and international youth work, on international project management and on funding opportunities. The projects which will be created as a result of this seminar (at least 8 exchanges, 3 training courses, 6 EVS projects, 5 local initiatives) will raise the awareness of being a European citizen among the participants, will have an approach of inculsion therefore will fight exclusion, xenophobia and racism. There will be 32 participants from 16 organisations which come from 13 countries (Bulgaria, Turkey, Spain, Latvia, Slovenia, Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Portugal, Romania and Italy). There will be a set of activities: interactive workshops which represent the activities of the participating organisations, workshops and presentations of best practices based on projects already implemented by the organisations (to have a wider perspective they visit NGOs in Budapest which work on similar fields as the participants), info sessions on Youth in Action, international project planning and management, small group meetings using the method of Open Space in order to create project ideas and plans for future cooperation. We plan to disseminate the results with a website and a mini-conference for Hungarian rural NGOs.
