Discovery of our forgotten cultural and natural heritage in the Hungarian-Serbian border region (CULT-NAT HERIT)

The ‘CULT-NAT HERIT’ project’s core activities on the field of historical and cultural heritage preservation management, support the creation of a joint thematic route, its common marketing under the Action 2.1.2. Its long-term objectives are to develop a long term harmonic and balanced co-operation between the project partners :Csólyospálos Local Government, Kiskunság National Park and LU Novi Bečej (Slano Kopovo natural area). This could promote the necessity of the common heritage management, can raise the responsibility for common natural ,cultural values,traditions to develop tourism and can help make the people understand the necessity of building and preserve our future. Partners have a science and cultural heritage sites in one. Research and practical measures taken in order its exploration, familiarization and preservation are necessary, without them our history, cultural and natural heritage will be lost. Achievements: Meadow-limestone is now an almost completely forgotten geological formation of the Hungarian- Serbian border region, but it actually has a long tradition: people used this material in architecture from the middle age to 1970s.The main goal of this project was to preserve meadow- limestone as cultural and natural heritage of the region, and to create and support a jointly promoted thematic tourist route.
