Discover talents and learning new skills in youthwelfare work
Start date: Aug 1, 2016, End date: Jan 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our major aim is providing activities in the leisure time of the children and youngsters. These activities try to strenghten the target group and give them more opportunities to a harmonious development. But also incourage them to participate to other activities and to society. This is how we try to get them out of the social exclusion. By working with these children and youngsters, the volunteers will be more aware about this problem and it will learn them of the methods we use. It will put their attention on the importance of the social cohesion and the support we give the children and the youngsters.Volunteers can experience, by participating activities, theirselfs how these children and youngsters interact with each other and they can experinece how it is living in a multicultural city. By talking together about differences hopefully there will appear a mutual understanding between the volunteers and the children/youngsters, employees and the community.Because the volunteers will work together with the children and youngsters, they will be aware of their part in our story. Their participation will be big and they will see that even do they are only an individu, they can make a difference in the lifes of the children and youngsters. We hope this will have an effect on their feeling of being a creative and active citizen in Europe and in their country in the future. And they will make a difference. We have two evs volunteers from Russia and Germany coming to Genk for 12months.In this project Natalia from Russia will work in Gigos Sledderlo, where she will be working with teen girls age between 10 and 16 years old and children between 3 and 10 years old.
