We are Uluslararası Gençlik Aktiviteleri Merkezi Derneği which is youth NGO in Kayseri. We organized KA1 seminar project which is name “Discover Religious Diversity” The Project will take in ISTANBUL, TURKEY in 12-18 December 2015.
Our target group is people;
• who are over the age of 18
• can work in English
• has residence in a EU/Partner Country
• can commit to stay for the whole duration of the training
• who is interested in dialogue and religion and inter-faith dialogue,
• who have open to intercultural dialogue
• open to follow up activities
• are geographically, economically, socially and culturally disadvantaged (Priority)
We will be approximately 31 people from 9 different following countries; TURKEY, ITALY, ROMANIA, GEORGIA, GERMANY, ISRAEL, MOROCCO, EGYPT and LITHUANIA.
Each partner organization will send 3 participants (ideally balanced gender). Selection of participants will be partners responsibility. However, IYACA is always ready to help and support.
The global aim of the training course is to build a safe space for youth workers to learn about 3 Abrahamic religions to promote dialogue and understanding especially after the issues raised Europe and around. We want to explore identities, culture, prejudice, stereotypes and intolerance in these religions. We believe that participants will widen their perspectives on religious diversity and increase youth workers’ knowledge, skills and attitudes on different religion based subjects. At the end of this training course, we aim trained youth workers/leaders/activist and will be more competent to work on religious diversity issues, has leant new tools to use in local and international level and also has a network within organization that has similar interest around Europe.
The training course will be based on non-formal education methods such as simulations/role plays, field visits, reflection groups, group works. It will be great opportunity to enhance exchange, partnership and co-operation.
The team will proceed with an approach based on the international and intercultural dimension: the different realities and cultural backgrounds of participants will set an interesting arena for sharing, exchanging and discussing how these thematic is perceived and dealt in the different countries and societies.
