dis(covering) abilities for NEET for U2
dis(covering) abilities for NEET for U2
Start date: May 1, 2015,
End date: Feb 29, 2016
PROJECT
FINISHED
as also written in the application this project was in fact a follow up of all the projects we did before. In almost all of our projects we included people who are NEET or with disabilities or all kinds. In this moment we are working hard to create a solid network in and around Europe and this PBA was an important issue in that.
We did choose to involve as many as possible organizations, in this case 22, half of them working with disabled and half of them without working with disabilities or experience in this field. Therefore there was mostly only one person from each organisation present, of course the disabled did also have helpers and translators and so on! this did help the contact making part because one was forced to deal with the others in that way.
this project did include the following countries: armenia, azerbaijan, belarus, albania, ukraine, moldova, russia, georgia, netherlands, turkey, romania, slovenia, ireland, italy, estonia and croatia. in total there were 43 people including accompanying persons, trainers etc.
in this project we did teach and help the participants how to find reliable partners especially in the working field of NEET, how to make and design and write a project and how to disseminate and evaluate and follow up these activities. We also wanted to write the first part of new projects during the project and we did. everybody was obligated to work with one or more partners on an application that in fact will be send in as a new project for one of the the next deadlines. We decided to do the project in the Netherlands because here is the venue were we are used to run our projects adapted for disabled and better accessible
ofcourse we did use all kind of non formal learning activities that exist and we also did explain to the participants what are good options and examples for adapting the games and energizers and so on including participants with disabilities. The project was 8 working days, this seems quit long for a PBA, but that was because we really wanted to use part of this time to make actual follow up projects, but also because we had a lot of people with disabilities, and in many things you just need more time because of that. working language was in English and all the participants know we did expect a good communication level in English.
We had another pilot in this project because we asked several partners to send for their organisation someone that was selected for doing EVS in the netherlands from september 2015 till september 2016. this was very good indeed because they will stay in their organisation for at least one more year and we had in this way a good advanced planning visit because in the free time we could also visit the future working places etc.
the impact will be quit big, because NEET is a new goal for many arganisations, and now they did get a lot of tools to start active working with them. this had a direct effect after the people went back home because most of the organisations are already working with NEET but did not have the tools and connections yet to start working on international level.
After all it was a very good project, the reviews of all the participating organisations were very good and we want to apply for a similar project with new partners again.
