PROJECT SUMMARY
BACKGROUND PROJECT
The European dimension of our school was a mobility project initiated in order to improve the weaknesses of the educational act of the school, starting from the next context:
- a decrease in the interest and motivation of students to study, in parallel with increasing their educational needs;
- poverty of the resources for lessons, lack of the school manuals or the existence of some old and outdated, so the need for current attractive resources;
- need for teachers to train at foreign institutions, in order to acquire authentic resources and new European techniques;
- increasing need of students for intercultural education which is made just during a few classes in the common core curriculum;
- need for a new European dimension to our institution in: new resources and working techniques that motivate students, the human resources (more trained teachers), the institutional management and new subjects in the curriculum.
PROJECT PURPOSE
Improving the quality of educational act of the institution, through the purchase of new practices and latest educational resources and integrate them in school practice.
OBJECTIVES
1. Teacher training and enriching the curriculum so that it would becomes the emblem of the school and should offers of the institution an added value.
2. Improvement school organizational culture through promoting intercultural education closer to European standards
3. Increasing the efficiency of the educational act of the institution, through new management strategies.
4. The wide opening of the school for European collaboration.
PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS AND NUMBER
The project made possible the involvement of a number of over 10 teachers of different specializations, in training activities and / or in the project implementation.
They were: teachers in primary, teachers of foreign languages, history, geography, biology,
the two directors, methodologist teachers, responsible of the curricular areas, class masters,
responsible and members of the Committee for European projects Erasmus +.
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES
- creation of a multidisciplinary team, the building of a work plan and establishing responsibilities of Erasmus+ team members, debate the project and the financial rules;
- mobility activities in order to participate in training courses and thematic workshops offered by European partner institutions;
- promotion, evaluation and dissemination of the project results;
- design and applying of a plan of valorisation the project results, with particular impact locally and regionally;
- ICT activities for creating promotional materials and valorisation of results;
- monitoring the activities for the valorisation of results.
RESULTS AND IMPACT
The project results were felt and will be used as follows:
- improving the Curriculum with new optional courses, working techniques and attractive resources;
- development of interdisciplinary collaboration at the school level;
- teachers more motivated in class, a better teacher-student relationship;
- students eager to assert themselves in class and extracurricular activities;
- parents and students more attracted to studying French as a language 1;
- very good results at school competitions in in foreign languages;
- students in primary, more motivated and very attracted to the lessons of history and science, in which teachers have used their resources acquired during the project;
- the school prestige has grown, through increasing teachers' motivation and their involvement;
- managers of the institution are oriented, increasingly more, towards the implementation of institutional management techniques learnt through their participation in training activities.
LONG-TERM BENEFITS
- a new European dimension of the institution, through the acquisition of new techniques work and new resources available to a large number of subjects and extracurricular activities;
- increase the prestige of teachers, impacting on the school population and attracting a growing number of students;
- improving the institutional management, improving curriculum with optional new school subjects;
- developing the collaboration of the school with other local and regional institutions;
- consolidating the organizational culture of the institution, increasing its prestige locally, regionally and nationally;
- the wide opening of the school towards European cooperation, to new European projects.
