The Digital Agenda for Europe of the Europe 2020 strategy calls for "multi-stakeholder partnerships, increased learning, recognition about digital competences as well as awareness raising and effective ICT training and certification outside formal education systems, including the use of online tools and digital media". Being one of the most vulnerable groups, migrants and refugees are quite hard to adopt and fully participate in our modern society. Developing digital competences will help their integration into the communities and the labour market in any EU countryTheme of our project is also relevant to other flagships in the Europe 2020 strategy, namely "An agenda for New Skills and Jobs" and "European platform against poverty and social exclusion", which is especially actual in relation to the present situation with social and economical inclusion of migrants and refugees. Our partnership has relevant experience of working with migrants and refugees by virtue of the previous Erasmus+ projects and we have seen an urgent need for developing digital competences among young migrants and refugees. Nowadays, digital technologies are key drivers of innovation, growth and job creation in a global economy. Thus, digital competences are becoming a must for employability and active citizenship. We are motivated to address aforementioned issues through this 2-leg Mobility Project with the aim of developing skills and competences to improve employability among refugee and migrant youth. The main objectives of this Mobility project are:- increasing the digital competences of the participants;- promoting the concept and the values of community volunteering as a way to deal with unemployment and social exclusion;- raising the awareness of the potential of Erasmus+ programmes to motivate youth to become project multipliers and entrepreneurs;- developing a group of young motivated peer leaders and educators with the necessary skills and competences to promote the acquisition of digital skills and employment related skills and the ability and support to carry through with similar projects;- facilitation of inter-sectorial networking processes among participants and partner organisations;- exchanging ideas and practices of youth participation/youth empowerment in a non formal way to support grass-root initiatives, volunteering, civic participation and networking of youth from refugee and migrant backgrounds;- exchanging local project experiences;- creating a base from which entrepreneurial projects can be developed, sustained and propagated; - empowering participants to share their knowledge and competences with their peers; This Mobility Project will be composed of the following stages:- preparation stage,- implementation stage (2 activities: Seminar and the Youth Exchange),- dissemination and follow up stage. The implementation stage will be split into the following activities:Activity 1: The seminar in Catania, Italy (7 participants from Sweden, Italy, Portugal and Romania). This activity will gather youth peer leaders and representatives of the organisations working with young refugee and migrants in their communities dealing with the issues of digital competences, social participation, youth employability and community volunteering. Participants will prepare their Action Plans, which will be realised further (at the next practice oriented activity of this project). Then our participants will carry out the research on the theme of the project (locally in their communities): looking at best practices of community volunteering and the best ways to approach the existing unemployment and social exclusion of young people using IT skills.Activity 2: The Youth Exchange in Timisoara, Romania. Participants for this activity will be young people taking part in the seminar together with young refugee and migrants highly motivated to participate in this project and disseminate its results through peer-to-peer teaching and volunteer projects after the Youth exchange is over. There will be 13 young people and 2 youth leaders from each participating country. The youth exchange will further develop the ideas introduced during the Seminar: community volunteering projects which will be implemented by the participants together. The following methodology will be used in the course of our project:• interactive presentations, research, simulation exercises, peer education techniques, workshops on inclusion/digital skills/project management, role play games, volunteer project designed and executed by the participants, mentorship, information on the Erasmus+ Programme potential to motivate young activists to become project multipliers, inspirational visits to community centers, evaluation and feedback. We expect that our findings and knowledge will be disseminated further among other organisations working with the corresponding issues. All our participants will work towards accreditation with a Youthpass certificate.
