PROJECT
FINISHED
Project "Different faces of voluntary service" took place from 4th Sep to 13th Sep 2015. The participants of the project represented five countries: Poland, Croatia, Italy, Spain and Romania. Most of them came from small cities or towns, dealed with voluntary work and were at a similar age. Most participants spoke English on more or less communicative level which was definitely enable communication during the project. The main aim of the project was to compare various activities of volunteers in different countries. Owing to this, we wanted to promote the idea of voluntary service and make people more sensitive and emphatic to other people's needs and suffering, which will create a better society as a whole. Another aim of the project was European integration and getting to know other cultures and traditions. In this way, we all wanted to promote our places of living and show the importance of braking all barriers, especially the ones concerning small towns and villages. Thanks to the project, we developed the participants' abilities and skills to use ICT tools and to use English in everyday communication. Another effect was connected with improving the participants' ability to use and speak English. In addition, we promoted our hometowns and at the same time we showed the significance of voluntary service. We wanted more and more people join voluntary groups in order ro react to people's needs. All the participants received youthpass certificates as a proof of gaining new skills. However, the certificates will also make the CVs more attractive and perhaps they will increase the chances of the participants on the future work market.
Before the project, there was a preparatory visit (14th Sep 2015) which helped the partners learn about ICT tools used during the project, especially in order to create Internet websites. We also showed our partners their accomodation and informed about the details of the project.
