Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

CONTEXT This project is set in the framework of the objectives established by the European Comission Erasmus + Program: international dimension, multilingualism, equity and inclusion in the field of education. As a tool for the achievement of the program objectives, we propose a strategic school transnational partnership between upper secondary school Tibble Fristående Gymnasium in Täby (Sweden) and IES Nosa Señora dos Ollos Grandes secondary school in Lugo (Spain). OBJECTIVES 1. Development of pro-European and international partners. 2. Promotion of equal opportunities and inclusion through education. 3. Enhancement of academically related issues in our educational communities. 4. Improvement in the quality of the strategic partnership. STUDENTS PARTICIPATING In order to achieve the proposed objectives, this project intends to realize two mobilities of different characteristics. 1. Long-term mobility of 6 students on a reciprocal basis and within the framework of a strategic school partnership between Tibble Gymnasium in Täby (Sweden) and IES Nosa Señora dos Ollos Grandes secondary school in Lugo (Spain). Said action will be carried out over a period of 2 months in each school year, within a two-year project. 2. Short-term mobility of 20 students in form of a physical and virtual exchange. This mobility is also reciprocal and within the same framework of a strategic school partnership between Tibble Gymnasium in Täby (Sweden) and IES Nosa Señora dos Ollos Grandes secondary school in Lugo (Spain). The exchange period will be 12 days each school year. In order to guarantee the success of the mobility, objective and subjective criteria will be established to select the participating students, whose personal profiles, academic records, proficiency of English and family status will be taken into account. LONG-TERM MOBILITY LEARNING AGREEMENT During the mobility, the students will attend classes of those subjects that both schools consider feasible and appropriate. In accordance with the staff in Lugo and with the support of the staff in Täby, the students will study the remaining subjects followed using ICT as a means of communication and support. Complementary activities included in the agreement will be a milestone in the success of the program. The mobility will be attested by a diploma and certification will also be issued for the foreign language activities. These accomplishments will likewise be included in the students’ Europass Curriculum Vitae, their language passport and their Mobility Document. SHORT-TERM MOBILITY The objective of this action is to reflect upon the cohabitation of two languages in the daily life in countries or regions of the European Union. Bilingualism may arise from different, distinct situations. We want to compare two of these situations and try to extrapolate the results obtained in order to improve the coexistence of these languages. IMPACT AND LONG-TERM BENEFITS The impact on our educational communities will take place at all levels and will involve management team, families, non-teaching staff and younger students, who are potential participants of future projects, as well as the participating teachers and students, who will be involved in developing new, complementary and extracurricular academic activities.
