Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project is titled: "Management and recycling of electrical and electronic waste" and regards mobility 22 students in initial vocational training, with two accompanying teachers, of the 2nd SEK Piraeus in the sector of electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering. The students, along with their accompanying teachers will be going to Germany for 14 days in January 2015 where they will be greeted by UVE as host institution. The object of the proposed project regards the training in the management and recycling of electrical and electronic waste. Recycling is the process by which something is reused partially or wholly, anything is directly or indirectly a result of human activity and in the form that is no longer good for humans. Prevention as a priority, the reuse - recycling and energy recovery posed hierarchically as the fundamental principles of waste management based on the EU and national legislation. Already under the existing and new institutional framework for the alternative management screening programs and new facilities are created in Greece for processing - waste recovery while organized on a different basis, the collection and transport of waste. These new developments in the field of waste management and general environmental protection and rational management of resources demonstrate the necessity of skilled personnel who will fill jobs in a wide range of activities associated with the "alternative management" of waste. Thus, training in this subject arose from the training needs of the students, and the labor market for expertise in management and recycling of electrical and electronic waste in order to gain knowledge, practical skills and attitudes that will make them competitive and able to pursue and achieve their integration into the labor market and self-fulfillment in their professional environment. The training will cover both theoretical training in the host, and internships - which will be given special attention - in business or certified workshops and visits to cultural attractions. The duration of the mobility abroad is satisfactory to meet the educational needs of participants while strengthening intercultural and linguistic characteristics of the program. The project also seeks with the implementation of the mobility, to achieve the following specific objectives: * to enrich their knowledge in the management and recycling of electrical and electronic waste * to work in an environment with different technologies and expertise, * to practice and perfect a foreign language, * to experience a different culture, * to increase their chances of finding work in Greece or in some foreign country. Subsequently, the implementation of the project will bring multiplier effects and benefits to sending and receiving operators, but also to the participants, who will gain the following: * Be able to meet the new demands of their profession , * Be aware of the operation , repair and maintenance of various devices in the main production processes of absorption of recyclables , * To apply technological solutions to management units and recycling waste * Keep records of materials received , as well as intermediate and final products for recycling , * Strictly implement guidelines Health and Safety * To sensitize customers and the public, spreading the message of the need for recycling, especially for electrical and electronic devices. Both in design, and in the implementation of the project the host institution acts in the successful adaptation and improvement of knowledge and skills of trainees to enable them to cope better the growing needs of the modern business world and make themselves more competitive labor market. The methodology used to implement the project is based on preparation actions - collecting applications, selection of participants, preparation and trip participants, actions during implementation - theory, practice visits - and actions at the end of the project - evaluation, impact. The expected impact on participants will be to gain knowledge and skills for this subject of training, their personal development and the strengthening of the concept of European citizenship through them. Subsequently, the impact on partners is identified in the exchange of experience and networking capability and further mobility.
