Erasmus School Project
Teachers at the Georges Martinais school have set up project concerning the individual success of the child in a European context, with the aid of computer technology. The main aim of the project is to target the success of pupils, so that they can acquire the skills essential to attain the "socle commun "of knowledge required at the end of "Cycle 3" and national examination A1. Thus, in the context of our teaching, we wish to place more emphasis on English culture in our linguistic practice, in order to instil curiosity and enthusiasm in those pupils who are learning English for the first time.
We would therefore like to resume the plans for correspondence and language exchanges with the Lechlade school, in order to create an eTwinning group, using the web2 tools to create a sort of guessing game which the children can play, back and forth, through the medium of the Internet .
The current “School Garden” project will also allow exchanges of artistic and culinary practices. The possibility of making changes in the garden and then exploring these changes, by means of a video or PowerPoint presentation, puts the child at the heart of the initiative.
Children consider the garden as a place of life and observation. Their participation in the development of this garden gives them knowledge, life skills and expertise which they can share with other European children. Observing English gardens will strengthen the idea of collective organization and taking care of our garden as individuals, with the desire to share it and show it to others.
We also want to strengthen the practice of Humanistic Culture in school by adding video documentation of the History of Art and Appreciation of Architecture in the context of European culture, using local resources with a view to sharing them with other children.
A quarterly report will assess the evolution of practices and achievements. The practices of language and computer technology will form part of the child's civic and European integration, allowing him to make both personal and cultural development.
