Développement professionnel et internationalisation de l'académie de la Guadeloupe.
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Academy of Guadeloupe is young and has recently defined an ambitious project that aims at modernizing the educational system. Promoting success for the students and reducing the number of school dropout are major concerns in the academy. Creating a common frame for the monitoring and the evaluation is also a main goal. Developping transversal actions, teamwork and pedagogical innovation are thus encouraged. Being an oversea departement, Guadeloupe hasn't developed a strong relation with Europe. European projects are an opportunity to dynamize existing partnerships and create new ones. Implementating innovative actions and comparing methods to define ways to improve the efficiency of teaching methods for all ages are encouraged by these partnerships. The Academy of Guadeloupe aims to develop this project in a consortium that will promote interdisciplinary collaboration and inter-level participants from the first and second degrees. 23 participants identified as potential project sponsors in the consortium institutions will benefit from mobility to develop agreements and prepare strategic partnerships. The participants are indeed motivated staff who perform actions of coordination and training in their institution and at the academic level. The "inspectors" (pedagogical experts in a subject) involved in the project will to promote the integration of the European project objectives in the work priorities of institutional bodies. The vice director of education of the Academy is also involved and will be able to learn about the monitoring of european educational institutions and european values. Like all the other participants, he will acquire skills in european project monitoring. Participants will attend observation and teaching sessions and take part in lessons. They will have to fill in comparative grids to understand better the European partners' school functioning methods and will find out about the measures taken in the following fields: - Assessment (of schools, teachers, students) - Guidance - Teaching methods - Students with learning difficulties - School drop outs - School climate - European dimension They will fill in the reports about their mobility, giving more specific data about their own teaching subject. The consortium will promote the sharing of knowledge and skills, sharing of experience in face meetings and collaborative platforms. Participants will strengthen their skills in information and communication technologies thanks to the collaborative development of resources for the promotion of the Erasmus + program, the evaluation methods and the teaching innovation. Logistic and financial management will be conducted jointly by the DAREIC in collaboration with the head masters, and the GIP-Daifi. In the short term , the added value of European projects is expected to be demonstrated: participants will be motivated to collaborate in future european projects and will be more involvemed in the students' achievement. Staff will acquire language and academic skills, and a better understanding of their role in the academy, they will improve the quality of their work and feel more professional satisfaction. In the long term, the dissemination of the project, thanks to the resources produced throughout the project, is expected to achieve a contextualized and effective promotion of European projects. It will also motivate the teaching staff of academic and vocationnal sectors to participate in projects and organize mobilities with linguistic, cultural and professional objectives for students with identified european partners.
