It is a fact now that the latest mobile devices and applications have changed the way of communication, access to entertainment and news and business. Consumers, businesses and computer programmers have embraced the new content, making the programmer of mobile phones of one of the most important and fastest growing occupations. The present project is inspired by new trends and rapid developments in the industry of "smart mobile phones" and proposes a plan by which 15 students of the 1st L.C. of Stavroupolis and in particular the Information Technology sector, will become familiarized and adapted to new programming languages and new application development platforms for mobile phones. These are students who are familiar with Information and Communication Technologies and taught deeper concepts of Computer Science. The courses taught are Structured Programming and Visual Programming, Operating Systems, Databases, Computer Networks, Multimedia, etc. Additionally, they know English very well, the language in which the seminar will be held. The objectives of this project are: Improving the cognitive skills of trainees . Familiarization with the programming language Java, with the Adroid platform and IOS, the Eclipse software. Building new knowledge on the existing The application of the acquired knowledge in practice through the development of applications. The connection between education and the labor market, through professional visits and placement of participants in companies and institutions abroad Broadening the professional horizons of participants and developing entrepreneurship . Their acquaintance with new forms of learning such as group cooperation , experiential , constructive Developing creative , collective , cooperative spirit among participants Boosting self-confidence , self-awareness , adaptability of participants The acquaintance with the culture, customs and traditions of Portugal The transfer of new experiences , expertise and good practices in Greece The development of language skills and encouragement to learn foreign languages Acquisition of Europass Certificate Encouraging mobility The development of new attitudes and behaviors The more specific activities and the methodology developed will be: A. Attending a 6-day seminar which will include the following learning material: 1st week seminar 1. Introduction to Android (Smartphones, the «Android» O.S. , development tools ) 2. Basic knowledge of the language Java ( A summary of the basic knowledge and principles of the programming language JAVA) 3. Acquaintance with the environment of the tool Eclipse ( Configuring the development environment , prerequisites , facilities Java SDK, Eclipse IDE, Android SDK, ADT for Eclipse, emulators) 4. Structuring a formal Android application ( basic screen realization, main menu , screen layout , XML files) 5. Design of forms - control Mechanisms Second week 2nd week Monday 6. Dialogue windows - input from user B. Technical Vistits: • Technical Visits to company that develops mobile application • Technical Visit to Google in Portugal, • Technical Visit to Portugal Telecom Foundation, • Technical Visit the School "Val De Rio" in the city og Oeiras. C. Cultural Program • Visits to Belem areain Lisbon with entrance in the following museums and monuments: Jeronimos monestary, Belem tour, Marines Museum, Jeronimos Cathedral, Cahes Musem, Oreint Museum. • Guided visits to the city of Sintra, Cascaisand Estroril. Final evaluation of the training program, an award event for the awarding of certificates to seminar attendees. Expected Results Enrich their knowledge beyond the narrow geographical limits of their school and build relationships of mutual support and cooperation new people and foreign scientists. Development of programming skills of participants through familiarization with the programming language Java, with Android and IOS platforms, the Eclipse software. Optimal placement of trainees at the best companies. In the field of personal skills we expect trainees to develop and evolve their personal cognitive skills ( self-confidence - self-control ) and social cognitive skills ( teamwork - cooperativeness - techniques of negotiation and conflict management-adaptability-flexibility-entrepreneurship). We expect to improve their perceptions of new business alternatives, working methods, for the people and culture of.... Develop collaborative behavior, teamwork, entrepreneurship, professionalism. In the long run we hope our plan will contribute to mobility development, openness and Europeanisation of schools, networking of organizations at home and abroad, new attitudes and behaviors of the local community . Additionally we hope that trainees transfer their expertise in Greece, strengthen entrepreneurship and innovation and finally strengthen the national economy
