Development of Entrepreneurial Skills of Women in the Field of Social Services

The project aims to develop entrepreneurial skills amongst the long-term unemployed, particularly women, with a focus upon the health and social care sectors. Unemployment in these sectors is particularly identifiable whereupon the provision of training in entrepreneurial skills expects to assist the re-entry of women into the labour market. The project will initially establish the learning and training needs necessary for successful entrepreneurial development in the health and social care sectors. A uniform vocational training programme will then be designed to promote enhanced entrepreneurial skills for women in each of the partner countries. Key project stages include the development of: a training of trainers programme (with accompanying curriculum and handbook), a series of short training modules (with accompanying curriculum, handbooks and CD-Rom materials) and distance training tools and related software (with accompanying curriculum and CD-Rom). Each stage of the programme's development will be piloted, with pilot phase results influencing the development of the final product. Project partners will develop a network of interested social partners to promote the project activities and end results. A dedicated website will provide information on enrolment in each partner's training programme and will act as a central means of programme dissemination.
