One of the ways for the development oftourism in the euroregion “Country of Lakes”that covers the bordering regions of Latvia,Lithuania and Belarus is based on culinaryheritage concept promoting local traditionalcuisine.The project promotes cross-border tourismdevelopment in the territory of euroregion“Country of Lakes” thus contributing tobecoming well-being region, improvementof tourism infrastructure and employment aswell as quality of life for local population.The project improves the capacity of tourismprofessionals and markets the euroregion“Country of Lakes” as a well – known tourismdestination place in Europe by carrying outmarket research, developing new crossbordertourism routes based on culinaryheritage, organizing network meetingswith tourism related businesses, study toursand seminars, conferences with folk musicfestival, participation in tourism exhibitions,preparation of tourism marketing strategyand promotion materials.
